Science Block Magnified

The Playground

The concreted playground lies under the piles of rubble seen here. This area housed a set of swings and a large monkey frame, and was also used for basketball, and tennis. The play tyres must be returned here after use, and not left lying about on the grass looking untidy. The end of the assembly hall is almost devoid of timber cladding by this time, and the class room block which housed the wood/metal work room, next to the domestic science room, and the Robsons apartment on the end, is also crumbling away. Another fine facility we had, based in the wood work room was a potter’s wheel and a massive firing oven. This was very interesting, and well used, in fact I recall a dedicated club being based around this function, not just for lesson use, but as a pastime also.
